December 18, 2012
Steve Nielsen
Scouting Director - Illinois
Sean Burnette is slowly becoming one of the most natural outfielders in the Class of 2015.
Today’s stock report features this St. Laurence HS product who keeps showing improved attributes both in the outfield as well as at the plate.
Burnette has an athletic frame at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds. In the outfield he shows natural outfield instincts. His actions are that of a true outfielder showing aggressive routes to the baseball and using a clean transfer and crow hop to get rid of the baseball. His arm displays carry and accuracy at 81 mph.
Offensively, he hits from a wide stance using a no stride approach. He shows solid balance and extension through the zone on a level path. His bat speed is advanced for his age and will only improve with added size and strength.
Look for this St. Laurence sophomore to garner plenty of attention over the next few years.
