Recruiting news around Illinois …

Washington University landed a pair of prospects when it received commitments from Glenbrook North C/RHP Brad Margolin and Deerfield INF Ben Browdy. Margolin, who’s ranked No. 86 in Illinois’ 2013 class, is a top-level athlete who possesses a strong arm behind the plate and on the mound.

Christian Taugner, a RHP from Lake Park HS, has committed to Brown University.

Nate Boss, a SS from DuQuoin HS, has committed to Webster University. Boss hit .395 as a junior.

Mitch Schulewitz, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound RHP from Mundelein HS, has committed to the University of Illinois-Chicago.

Malik McNeal, a C/OF from Crete-Monee HS, has committed to Oakton CC.

McHenry County College landed two more prospects: Lake Zurich INF Mike Shastany and Huntley C Tyler Mindak.

Mike Hainline, a RHP/1B from Olympia HS, has committed to Illinois Central College.
