More recruiting news from around Illinois …

Brad Henry, a long and loose 6-foot-4, 175-pound LHP from Alton HS, has committed to McKendree College. Henry, who’s ranked No. 103 in Illinois’ 2013 class, showed extremely well at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase behind an 82-84 mph fastball from a lower-3/4 arm slot.

Justin Gonzalez, a left-handed hitting infielder from Mt. Carmel HS, has committed to Oakton CC. The 5-foot-9 Gonzalez, who’s ranked No. 200 in Illinois’ Class of 2012, features a pure left-handed swing.

Henry Cappel, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound RHP from Oak Park-River Forest HS, has committed to Swarthmore College. A top-level student, Cappel is currently ranked No. 188 in Illinois’ 2013 class.

Ryan Nikolich, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound RHP/3B from Niles Notre Dame HS, has committed to Parkland College. Nikolich recently showed well at the PBR Unsigned Senior Showcase.

Mike Hallstrom, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound 1B from Prairie Ridge HS, has committed to McHenry County College.

Lewis University landed a pair of pitchers recently: Wauconda RHP James Holub and Joliet Catholic Academy RHP Sam Couch.
