Preseason I.D. - Romeoville Preview: Roster and Check-in Times

The Prep Baseball Report Preseason I.D. – Romeoville at the Romeoville Athletic and Events Center in Romeoville, IL will take place on Monday, February 15, 2016.

The open showcase is geared towards all high school classes.

The Preseason I.D. - Romeoville event has been a coming out party for many in the past. Last year’s event featured LHP Ryan Eiermann Naperville Central HS, 2017) ranked No. 11 in Illinois and committed to Texas Christian. It also was the first event that OF Alek Thomas (Mount Carmel HS) current No. 1 player in the 2018 class attended.

At the event in 2014, RHP Garrett Acton (Lemont HS, 2016) attended his first PBR event as a sophomore and impressed sitting 85-86 mph, touching 87. Acton eventually committed to St. Louis and is currently ranked No. 19 in the state of Illinois. That same year SS Matt Collins (Carmel Catholic HS, 2016) also made the Romeoville event his first PBR appearance. Collins is now committed to Cornell and ranked No. 98 in Illinois.  

This year’s event features a lot of names we are not familiar with. One name we are familiar with is LHP Ryan Louck (Plainfield East HS, 2018). Louck features a loose arm from a ¾ slot and we have seen his fastball climb into the low 80’s with arm-side-run this winter. He compliments his fastball with a sharp curveball with good spin.

We are looking forward to seeing who is primed to make this year’s event their coming out party.

Check-In times for the Preseason I.D. - Romeoville are as follows:

Position Players:
8:20 AM-8:40 AM

Pitcher Only:
11:20 AM-11:40 AM

Catchers will stay for both sessions as they will also be evaluated while catching bullpens.

The event should end around 12:00 PM for position players. The last pitcher should conclude around 2:00 PM.

Metal cleats are NOT allowed to be worn in the facility. Please wear turfs or gym shoes.
