Grayslake Central 8, Crystal Lake Central 4
Grayslake Central (10-8; 5-4) opened up a 5-0 lead after two innings and cruised to a Fox Division victory. Senior Kyle Clark had two singles and plated three Ram runs while senior Matt Loeffl had two singles a double and an RBI.
Fox Valley Valley
McHenry 9, Dundee-Crown 8
McHenry (13-3; 8-0) scored four times in the bottom of the seventh, tying the game on a clutch two-out-two-run single from junior Jack Glosson. The game moved to extra-innings, when with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Warrior sophomore Nick Lahrman strolled into the batter’s box. Lahrman launched the fourth pitch soaring over the centerfield fence for a McHenry game-winner.
Crystal Lake South 8, Jacobs 5
Crystal Lake South (8-6; 5-4) scored four times in the first inning and went on to hand the Golden Eagles their first FVC loss, ending the Gators’ three-game losing streak in Crystal Lake. Senior C Casey Oliver singled, doubled, homered and drove home three Gator runs. Senior Ryan Hetherington had two doubles and two RBI while Sophomore Dakota Siwula also went deep for the Gators and had two RBI. Jacobs falls to 14-7 overall and suffers its first FVC Valley loss at 8-1.
Huntley 4, Prairie Ridge 3
Huntley (12-4-1; 6-3) slipped past the Wolves behind seniors Adam Kalish and RHP Mason Martin. Kalish allowed one earned run and six hits in his 6-2 innings of work to pick up the win. Martin gave up a hit and recorded the 21st out of this contest to nail down the save. University of Illinois-bound Mark Skonieczny singled and had an RBI for the Red Raiders.
Interstate 8 Crossovers
Manteno 13, Coal City 9
Manteno (14-3; 5-1-1) scored seven times in the top of the fifth to erase a 8-5 Coaler lead and picked up a half game on I-8 South leader Herscher (15-5; 7-0). Junior Jack Morgan had a pair of singles and drove home three Panther runs. Senior Caleb Selk had two singles and two RBI while senior Drew Nichols put his name in nomination for the Porsche Player of the Week with four more singles, two runs scored and an RBI. For the week, Nichols is 10-for-14 with five runs two homers and eight RBI with a game Saturday at No. 21 Plainfield North. The Panthers will host Herscher on Monday and will travel to Herscher on Tuesday in the finale of a crucial I-8 South series.

Lane Tech 20, Schurz 5
Lane Tech (10-7; 5-0) crushed the Bulldogs in five innings behind Wayne Sobotka, who went 3-for-3 with two singles a triple and drove in three Indian runs.

Morgan Park 10, Whitney Young 6
Morgan Park (10-3-1; 5-0-1) outslugged the Dolphins behind Jamal Martin and Christian Bullock. Martin singled homered and drove home two Mustang runs while Bullock went deep and also plated two Mustang runs. Dantrelle Lucas added two singles and three RBI.
Mid-Suburban Crossovers
Barrington 12, Wheeling 4 (8 innings)
It took eight innings for Barrington (15-6; 4-2 West) to put away the pesky Wildcats of Wheeling, but the Broncos delivered the eight-run knockout punch in the top of the eighth. Junior Jake Coon was 5-for-5 with three singles, two doubles and three RBI. Junior Jake Peterson chipped in with three singles a double and an RBI for the Broncos.
Elk Grove 2, Fremd 0
Elk Grove (12-4; 5-1 East) blanked Fremd (9-7; 4-2 West) in a battle along the banks of Salt Creek in Elk Grove. Senior RHP Peter Arbov fired a five-hit shutout at the Vikings with five strikeouts. Senior Daryl Rivera’s RBI single gave Arbov and the Grenadiers the only run they would need.
Rolling Meadows 8, Schaumburg 3
Rolling Meadows (8-6; 4-2 East) rolled past the Saxons behind senior RHP Eric Sturtz. Sturtz (4-0) fired a six-hitter at the Saxons allowing two earned runs with six strikeouts. At the plate Sturtz had three singles and plated three Mustang runs. Junior Brett Gibson chipped in with a double and two RBI. STAT NOTE: Meadows senior Eric Schurtz is hitting .500 with six doubles two triples and 17 RBI. On the mound Schurtz is 4-1 with a 2.03 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 31 innings pitched. Schaumburg falls to 10-2 overall and 5-1 in MSL West action.
Prospect 7, Palatine 5 (8 innings)
Prospect (11-5-1; 4-2 East) rallied past the Pirates for a thrilling come-from-behind extra-inning win at home in Mount Prospect. Prospect trailed 5-1 as the game went to the bottom of the seventh when the Knights exploded for four runs highlighted by Lucas Karz’s clutch two-out RBI single to tie the game at 5-5. In the bottom of the eighth after two out, Trey Compton singled and after five throws to first base, Patrick Donohoe hit a two-run walk-off blast over the CF fence that sent Knight Fans dancing onto Route 83.

Rockford Boylan (12-5; 3-2) blasted BN behind Andy Cropp who singled doubled and drove home three Titan runs. Will Troia fired a four-hitter with seven strikeouts to pick up the win on the mound and hammered a solo-blast at the plate.
Northern Illinois Big 12 East
Kaneland 5, DeKalb 3
Kaneland (10-3; 6-0) swept away the Barbs in DeKalb for the Knights tenth consecutive win. Starting and winning RHP Nathan Hopkins (2-0) allowed two runs and seven hits in five innings to pick up the win. At the plate Hopkins helped himself to three doubles and an RBI. Tyler Carlson chipped in with a single and an RBI.
Yorkville, Rochelle
Yorkville (14-5; 6-0) swept away the Hubs scoring seven runs in the seventh in Rochelle. Senior Tom Kinney singled, doubled, hit two bombs and drove home five runs. to lead the Fox onslaught. Junior Sam Flamini went deep twice and plated three Fox runs while Michael Guddendorf joined the long-ball party with a two-run bomb.

Benton 13, Massac County 4
Benton (11-11; 3-4) routed the Patriots behind junior Dakota Head, who had two singles, scored three runs and drove home four for the Rangers. Senior Tyler Owens chipped in with two singles and two RBI.
Nonconference
No. 6 Joliet Catholic Academy 2, Lockport 0
Joliet Catholic Academy (14-3) won a thriller at Ed Flink Field in Lockport on Friday night. Senior RHP Brandon Kaminski and junior RHP Danny Earhsam combined for a three-hit shutout of the host Porters. Kaminski fired the first six innings allowing two hits with five strikeouts. Earhsam allowed a hit in his scoreless inning of relief. The Hilltoppers plated a pair of runs in the first inning against Porter UIC-bound ace RHP Noah Masa. Junior Nick Dalesandro and senior Keegan Tyrell plated the two Hilltopper runs and Massa shutout JCA the rest of the way, allowing just three hits with nine strikeouts
No. 8 Libertyville 13, Wauconda 0
Libertyville (15-2) destroyed the Bulldogs in five innings behind a five-hit shutout from Grinnell College-bound RHP Andrew Mack (6-0). TCU-bound C Evan Skoug went 3-for-3 with a home and two RBI while Concordia (WI)-bound Noah Greenberg also homered among his two hits and drove home three Wildcat runs.
Nazareth 9, St. Joseph 1
Nazareth (14-3) pounded the Chargers behind senior Brandon Gipson. Gipson had two singles, doubled and drove home three Roadrunner runs.
