Jack Guzek pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts and no walks as the Crusaders returned to their winning ways. Joe Preusser’s two-run single in the top of the first gave Brother Rice the lead for good.
No. 3 Plainfield North 3, Lincoln-Way East 1
Brady Miller struck out four in three scoreless innings of one-hit ball and Brandon Knox had two hits for North.
No. 4 Lincoln-Way North 5, Bremen 0
Tyler Laux pitched a one-hitter with six strikeouts and two walks for the Phoenix. Luke Witkowski went 2-for-2 with an RBI in the victory.
Springfield 6, No. 6 Edwardsville 5
Austin Alderman’s two-run single in the top of the seventh forced extra innings and Ethan Klay singled and scored an unearned run in the 10th to win it for Springfield. Damien Pierce homered in the victory.
No. 8 St. Rita 7, No. 16 Oak Park 2
Matt Verdun allowed an earned run on five hits in six innings to lead St. Rita to the Do It Stevie’s Way tournament title. Mateo Zunica and Dominic Sarro had two hits apiece for the Mustangs.
No. 9 St. Laurence 7, Montini 1
Angel Sandoval pitched six innings of three-hit ball for the Vikings. Anthony Rios went 3-for-3 and Jake Diaz had two hits and three RBI in the victory.
Downers Grove South 3, No. 12 Sandburg 2
Danny Oriente went 2-for-4 with two runs, including the game-winner on a passed ball in the bottom of the eighth. Zack Jones allowed three hits in four scoreless innings of relief.
St. Viator 13, No. 13 Moline 11
Cole Kmet belted a three-run homer as St. Viator rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh to win the 32-hit shootout. Dan Sullivan also went deep in the victory. Shaun Falbo had four hits and Mike Ragauskas and Michael Wittich had three apiece for Viator.
No. 20 St. Joseph-Ogden 7, Oakwood 0
Dalton Parker pitched a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts and no walks, allowing only one baserunner on a hit-by-pitch in the Class 2A regional finals. Parker also went 2-for-3 and Mason Coon had two RBI in the victory.
No. 22 Normal Community 6, Bradley-Bourbonnais 0
Will McLeese went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Kevin Zager and Brett Beasley combined on the four-hit shutout.
Lyons 11, No. 22 Normal Community 9
Justin Williams went 3-for-3 with four RBI and Emilio Guitron homered in the victory. Griffin Schultz added two hits and two RBI for Lyons.
No. 23 Rockford Christian 9, Beloit Memorial 4
Bryan Truitt went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the victory. Jake Gugle added an RBI triple.

Matt Krogstad tripled and doubled in three at-bats for the Dons. Matt Segovia went 2-for-4 with a triple and two runs in the victory.
Rockford Christian 10, Aurora Christian 6
Brady West and Justin Mercer hit two home runs apiece as Rockford Lutheran slugged its way to a 2A regional championship. Nick Brigham added three hits in the victory.
Beardstown 5, Pleasant Plains 0
Jack Dour struck out eight and walked none in his five-hit shutout as Beardstown captured a 2A regional title. Will Robertson homered and Alec Taylor had three RBI in the victory.
Teutopolis 7, Breese Central 6
Cody Jansen’s sacrifice fly plated Kyle Smith with the winning run and a 2A regional title. Brock Bueker went 3-for-3 in the victory.
Beecher 7, Peotone 4
Austin Burgess went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and two RBI to power Beecher to the 2A title. He also pitched 1 ⅔ scoreless innings to save the win for Zac Ruzich.
Williamsville 4, Argenta 0
Cody Womack pitched a two-hitter with four strikeouts and no walks in a 2A regional final. Vince Vignali went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the victory.
Naperville North 1, Plainfield Central 0
Jack Whitley allowed three hits in 4 ⅓ scoreless innings and Matt Pillatsch scored an unearned run in the third for North.
Dundee-Crown 4, Palatine 3
Conor Ryan allowed two hits in 6 ⅔ and the Chargers cut Palatine’s seventh-inning rally just short. Ryan Denz went 2-for-2 in the victory.
Paxton Buckley Loda 10, Tri-Valley 7
Jonny Walder went 3-for-4 with four RBI, including a key two-run double in Paxton Buckley Loda’s four-run fifth. Peyton McClure had two hits and two RBI in the victory.
Centennial 8, Lincoln-Way Central 4
Kellen Sarver went 3-for-4 with three RBI and Luke Smith had two hits and drove in a pair for Centennial. Luke Smith allowed two runs on five hits in six innings to pick up the win.
St. Ignatius 7, Crystal Lake South 5
Geno Callahan had three RBI for the Wolfpack.

Dylan Gilbert doubled, tripled and scored two runs in the victory.
Galesburg 9, Dunlap 4
Tryvar Shull went 2-for-4 with two RBI as Galesburg banged out 14 hits in the victory.

Nick Laxner went 2-for-3 with two RBI and seven Huntley pitchers combined on a two-hitter.
Grayslake North 5, Carmel 2
Sebastian Sancen allowed two runs on five hits in 5 ⅔ innings for North. Charlie Burr tripled, singled and stole two bases in the victory.
Lake Zurich 6, Maine West 5
Jacob Kubin singled home the winning run as the Bears rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh. Alex Krueger had three hits in the victory.
Mundelein 11, Highland Park 0
Zach Zentz pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 of the 16 batters he faced. Jake Breitenreiter went 3-for-3 in the victory.
Batavia 4, Kaneland 3
Jake Robinson allowed an unearned run on three hits in four innings and went 2-for-3 for Batavia.
