Danny Gleaves went 3-for-4 and Cal Greenfield hit a home run for the Mustangs. Luke Bechina allowed one hit in five innings to earn the win.
No. 8 Brother Rice 16, Lane 0
Ryan Kutt went 2-for-2 with four RBI and Andrew Dyke added two hits and three RBI for the Crusaders.
No. 14 St. Laurence 13, Flowing Wells (AZ) 2
Zach Verta got the win on the mound. Matt McCormick went 2-for-3, 3B and an RBI for St. Laurence. Anthony Robles also went 2-for-3 with a 2B and 2 runs scored.
Grant 10, No. 19 Mundelein 7
Ben Kusiak went 3-for-3 with a hime run and Michael Bengston had two doubles and a triple for Grant.
No. 23 Marist 3, Shepard 2
Zach Sefcik had a two-run double in the third and scored on John Carmody’s single as Marist made the most of its two hits off Shepard’s Jack Carbery.
No. 25 St. Joseph Ogden 1, Bismarck-Henning 0
Colton Carr outdueled fellow Kankakee Community College recruit Dylan Dodd, needing just 74 pitches to complete a one-hitter for St. Joseph. Dalton Parker was responsible for three of the four hits Dodd allowed, including an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth.
Normal West 7, Smith’s Station (AL) 6 (8 innings)
Nick Watson hit a homerun in the fifth inning and reached base two times for Normal West. He also scored two runs. Nate Beal got the win in relief for the Wildcats.
Normal West 3, Jacksonville (AR) 2
Andrew Kurdys did not allow an earned run in the five-inning victory. Patrick Lipka doubled, stole two bases and scored two runs for West.
Jacksonville 12, Glenwood 11
Adam Hillis hit three home runs, two in the first two innings and a solo shot in the sixth that gave Jacksonville a 12-7 lead. Ryan McAvoy had a two-run double in Glenwood’s four-run sevent-inning rally that fell just short.
Peoria Notre Dame 14, Dunlap 6
Luke Shadid went 3-for-3 and scored four runs for Notre Dame. John Epley had three RBI and Luc Jackson had three hits for Notre Dame. Charlie Mangieri had two hits and two RBI for Dunlap.
Cobden 16, Dongola 6
Trevor Middleton went 3-for-3 with four RBI for the Appleknockers.
Kenwood 13, UIC Prep 6
Brandon Green went 3-for-3 with four RBI and Jaylen Patterson went 2-for-2 with three RBI as Kenwood pounded out 13 hits in the four-inning victory.
Mt. Olive 10, Gillespie 8
Caden Monke went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Seth Bruhn allowed one run on three hits in the final three innings.
Bremen 11, Rich East 3
Colin Walton went 2-for-2 with two RBI and three runs for Bremen.
Salem 11, Breese Central 3
Brendan Boles and Cole Steward had three hits apiece for Salem.
Oswego 4, Glenbard East 1
Gabriel Panza and Tanner Sohst had RBI singles as Oswego scored four in the third. Carter Turnquist went the distance in the five-inning victory, allowing three hits and striking out seven.
Plainfield East 9, Joliet West 0
Joe Antonopolous allowed one hit and one walk while striking out six in the four-inning victory. Michael Sullivan went 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Sacred Heart-Griffin 4, Lincoln 2
Sam Sergent went 2-for-3 and scored one of his three runs on a sixth-inning wild pitch as the Cyclones scored two unearned runs in the frame to break a 2-2 tie.
Vernon Hills 11, Valley View (AR) 1
Tyler Brancato and Kyle Fasbinder had two hits apiece for Vernon Hills.
