St. Viator 2, DePaul Prep 0
Shaun Falbo went 3-for-3 and teamed with winning pitcher Kevin Napolean and Cole Kmet on a three-hitter with 12 strikeouts and three walks. Falbo also doubled in the third and scored the game’s first run on a triple by Dan Sullivan. Tyler Elliot pitched a six-inning complete game for DePaul.
Richmond-Burton 5, McHenry 1
Michael Wojcik and Ryan Zimmer doubled as R-B scored four runs in the top of eighth after managing just two singles in the first seven innings. Bobby Miller was dominant in four innings on the mound for McHenry, allowing no runs on one hit while striking out 10.
Cary-Grove 2, Palatine 1
Dallas McDonough singled home Tyler Pennington in the bottom of the fifth to break a 1-1 tie. Max Neilson struck out four in three scoreless innings of relief to earn the victory. Zach Oles and Brendan Walker had two hits apiece for Palatine.
Beecher 9, Watseka 1
Andrew Olszewski hit a three-run homer and scored three runs to power Beecher’s 12-hit attack. Zac Ruzich struck out 11 in five innings and went 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Mercer County 5, Kewanee 2
Mercer County made the most of its two hits, drawing two bases-loaded walks and pushing across another run with a hit batsmen with the bases loaded in a four-inning victory. Connor Sharp pitched all four innings to get the win.
Mt. Vernon 7, Salem 1
Darick Hayes pitched five no-hit innings and homered in the victory. He struck out five and walked one. Jeremiah Lyday went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Mt. Vernon.
Midland 10, Ridgeview 0
Will Holler went 4-for-4 and drove in two and Nathaniel Schackow struck out 10 in a six-inning two-hitter for Midland.
Morris 6, Wilmington 0
Mount Zion 5, St. Anthony 0
