No. 1 Jacobs 9, Woodstock 0
Mike Addante had two hits, including a triple, and scored two runs for Jacobs. Tim Randl went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Justin Lavrisa and Patrick Connomikes combined on the shutout. Lavrisa allowed four hits in five innings in picking up the win.
No. 2 Mount Carmel 10, Montini 3
Jeremy Houston went 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs, Jake Lenti went 3-for-3 with a triple and Bobby Seymour had two hits and three RBI for the Caravan. Connor Spear allowed two earned runs on four hits in six innings for the win.
No. 3 St. Laurence 11, St. Joseph 0
Jake Diaz went 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Vikings. Matt McCormick had two hits and two RBI and Jack Cavanaugh had an RBI triple.
No. 4 Brother Rice 8, Fenwick 1
Ryan Kutt had a two-run single as Brother Rice scored eight runs in the first inning. Jack Nelligan went the distance for the Crusaders, allowing six hits while striking out six and walking none. Brett Bagus had two hits in the victory.
No. 7 Plainfield North 9, Oswego 1
Brady Corrigan pitched a four-hitter and Josh Garner hit a home run for North. Corrigan struck out six and walked one in going the distance. Justin Yeager had two hits and scored two runs in the victory.
No. 8 St. Charles North 9, Larkin 8
Sam Faith’s sixth-inning grand slam broke a 5-5 tie and St. Charles North endured Larkin’s three-run seventh to avoid a massive upset. Zach Fick had two hits and scored two runs for the North Stars. Seth Morford had two hits, drew two walks and scored two runs for Larkin.
No. 11 Sandburg 9, Joliet West 1
Troy Jones belted a grand slam and Kevin Lane struck out eight in six innings of three-hit ball for Sandburg. Andy Gaytan and Evan Tenuta had two hits apiece in the victory.
No. 16 St. Francis 12, DePaul Prep 2
Brett Whelton belted two triples and Zach Crescenzo went 3-for-3 in the victory. Ryan Hodgett allowed two runs in five hits while striking out six and walking one in five innings for St. Francis.
No. 24 Prospect 16, Hersey 12
Ryan Howe went 4-for-4 and was a home run shy of the cycle, Richie Baczek went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI and the Knights pounded out 17 hits in the MSL East victory.
Morton 11, Dunlap 1
Ryan Altenberger got the win on the mound and went 2-for-3 with a triple and a home run. Trevor Davis went 2-for-3 with a home run, double and four RBI. Logan Peterson added a double and a triple.
Lake Zurich 2, Warren 1
Lake Zurich’s Matt Svanson and Warren’s Sam LaMotte matched zeroes for eight innings before the Bears answered Warren’s run in the top of the ninth with two in the bottom of the frame. Both Lake Zurich runs scored on an error. Svanson allowed four hits and two walks while striking out nine in eight innings. LaMotte allowed an unearned run on four hits with seven strikeouts and no walks in eight-plus.
Libertyville 10, Stevenson 1
Riley Gowens allowed a run on four hits in six innings and Ben Kimpler went 3-for-4 with two doubles as Libertyville handed Stevenson its first North Suburban Lake loss. Tim Calamari and Jackson Peterson drove in two runs apiece for the Wildcats.
Niles Notre Dame 12, Cary-Grove 11
Ranko Stevanovic went 4-for-4 with three RBI, Sam Ferri went 3-for-3 with a home run and Notre Dame survived Cary-Grove’s six-run rally in the top of the seventh.
Benet 12, Marian Catholic 9
Marty Dosen went 3-for-4 with two home runs and five RBI to power Benet’s 14-hit attack. Alex Tassos added three hits and four RBI, including a two-run single in the seventh to extend the Benet lead to 12-8. Wyell Woods hit two solo home runs and Christian Beal and Mark DiLuia also went deep for Marian.
Carmel 17, St. Viator 5
Eddie Pietschmann went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Joe Lake had two hits and drove in four runs for the Corsairs.
Marist 2, Homewood-Flossmoor 1
Ben Chaffee pitched five solid innings for the win and John Carmody and Zach Sefcik had two hits apiece for Marist. Jack Snyder pitched the seventh for the save.
Minooka 7, Plainfield East 1
Tyler Fitzgerald went the distance, allowing five hits while striking out six and walking one as Minooka won for the fifth time in six games. Hayden Laczynski went 3-for-4 for Minooka.
Oak Forest 2, Lincoln-Way Central 1
Jacob Jones pitched a three-hitter with nine strikeouts and one walk for the Bengals. Jones also had his team’s only RBI, a sacrifice fly in the third inning to give Oak Forest a 2-0 lead.
Lincoln-Way West 11, Manteno 1
Tyler Dallio struck out six in four innings of one-hit ball for the Warriors. Ben Zordani went 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs in the victory.
Batavia 14, St. Charles East 6
Kyle Niemiec went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI for the Bulldogs. Jared Martin drove in three runs in the victory.
Downers Grove South 11, Hinsdale Central 4
Cameron Crowley had two hits and scored two runs in the victory.
Metea Valley 6, Aurora Christian 3
Anthony Greco hit a home run, Jack Feeley had two hits and Blake Nicolls drove in two runs for Metea Valley.
Neuqua Valley 10, Lockport 5
James Gargano homered and Will Drake went 3-for-4 with two RBI for Neuqua.
Willowbrook 11, Leyden 1
Teno Geritano had two doubles and five RBI for Willowbrook. Kyle Ferguson also doubled twice and drove in three. Alec Michaelson pitched a five-inning one-hitter and struck out seven.
New Trier 3, Richards 2
The Trevains prevailed despite managing just one hit, a harmelss leadoff single by Dylan McGuire in the first inning. They scored two runs on five walks in the second and an unearned run in the fourth.
Loyola 9, De La Salle 2
Kevin Knapp pitched a four-hitter, Liam McKeough homered and Andrew Bartholow had three hits for the Ramblers.
Marian Central 7, St. Patrick 4
Dan Rochette went 3-for-4 with four RBI for Central.
Marmion 4, Bishop McNamara 2
Jon Young struck out 10 and allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks in the complete-game victory.
Schaumburg 6, Barrington 1
Parker Nolan allowed five hits in the complete-game victory and Schaumburg broke open a close game with five runs in the top of the seventh.
Palatine 6, Conant 2
Charlie Van Dyke pitched a three-hitter with eight strikeouts and Danny Schneberger hit a home run for the Pirates. Danny Amato added three hits and two RBI.
Elk Grove 8, Rolling Meadows 0
Jonathan Maday pitched a five-hit shutout and Joe Lopez tripled, doubled, singled and drove in five runs. Christian Camacho went 3-for-4 and scored three runs.
Buffalo Grove 11, Wheeling 1
John Carpinelli had a two-run double as B.G. scored seven runs in the first inning. Zach Fricke allowed four hits in the six-inning victory.
Mundelein 11, Zion-Benton 2
Reese Dolan struck out seven in 4⅓ innings and doubled in the victory. Jeff Morton and Zach Zagula tripled and singled for Mundelein.
Lakes 9, Round Lake 1
Ben Milewski struck out 10 in four innings of three-hit ball. Matt Milewski went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Wauconda 10, Vernon Hills 8
Winning pitcher Jake Grobelny went 3-for-3 and Luke Weller had two hits and three RBI as Wauconda remained unbeaten in North Suburban Prairie play.
Antioch 6, Grant 5
Thomas Boeh, the No. 9 hitter in Antioch’s lineup, hit two home runs, including a walk-off to lead off the bottom of the seventh. Boeh also hit a three-run homer in the second inning.
Lane 7, Young 5
Ryan Smith had an RBI double and Erik Basler scored two runs for Lane. Brett Wicklund pitched two scoreless innings to save the win for fellow relier Timothy Eiden.
Bartlett 13, West Chicago 1
Tripp Paris and Ryan Temesvary hit home runs for Bartlett. Shane Donovan struck out six and allowed four hits in five innings.
Evergreen Park 12, Rich South 1
Pat Doran homered and drove in five runs and Will Doran doubled and tripled for Evergreen Park. Zach Kupzyck pitched a two-hitter in the six-inning victory.
Boylan 6, Rockford East 5
Sam Rinaldo had three RBI and Boylan scored an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth to prevail. Adam Rehfeldt allowed one hit in three scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
Glenwood 10, Lanphier 2
Logan Cody and Jacob Ryan hit home runs and Todd Fowler went 3-for-4 for Glenwood.
Freeport 3, Harlem 2
Andrew Woods scored on Ben Swords’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh for the walk-off victory.
