Matt Verdun pitched a one-hitter with seven strikeouts and one walk in the five-inning victory. Blake Soria had two hits and Sam Basalone two RBI in the victory.
Morgan Park 5, No. 2 Mount Carmel 4
Thalame Byrd went 3-for-4 and had an RBI triple as Morgan Park built a 5-0 lead and held on for a statement-making victory. Myles Norman allowed two earned runs on six hits in 6 ⅓ for the win and Nelson Velazquez got the final two outs for the save.
No. 2 Mount Carmel 12, Bishop McNamara 2
Alek Thomas and Bobby Seymour hit home runs and Diego Munoz tripled and had three RBI for the Caravan. Macauley Kilbane allowed three hits in five innings for the win.
No. 3 Jacobs 12, Grayslake North 4
Cameron WIlson had four hits, Nate Meland had three and Ian Oreskovich drove in three runs for Jacobs. Dylan Cummins and Jeff Anders pitched three perfect innings in relief of winning pitcher Brad Demkovich.
No. 4 St. Laurence 7, DePaul Prep 2
Jimmy Burnette struck out eight and allowed two unearned runs in five no-hit innings for St. Laurence. Zach Verta went 2-for-2 with two RBI in the victory.
No. 5 Brother Rice 10, Lincoln-Way Central 0
Ryan Kutt hit a grand slam in the first inning for the Crusaders. Dylan Rusniak added two hits and two RBI.
St. Viator 4, No. 7 Nazareth 3
Cole Kmet’s two-run homer in the top of the fourth erased Nazareth’s 3-2 lead. Dan Sullivan hit a two-run homer in the first for St. Viator. Kevin Napolean struck out nine in six innings for the win and Kmet survived a hit and two walks in the seventh for the save.
No. 7 Nazareth 5, St. Viator 4
Will McKenna’s RBI single in the top of the seventh broke a 4-4 tie. Joe Muscolino went 3-for-4 in the victory.
No. 8 Plainfield North 12, Glenbard South 1
Zach Jarosz went 2-for-3 with a triple and four RBI. Jake Dunham went 3-for-3.
Lyons 5, No. 11 Oak Park 1
Mike Courtney hit a home run and Scott Garrow had two hits and two RBI for the Lions. Emilio Guitron allowed a run on seven hits in five innings, and Zach Hyerdall got the final six outs for the save.

Hank Christie hit a three-run homer as OPRF scored four in the top of the sixth to erase a 3-0 deficit. Mike Courtney went 3-for-3 for Lyons.

Tyler Zarembka pitched five scoreless innings of two-hit ball and Jackson Dvorak went 3-for-4 with two RBI for the Celtics. Jackson Stulas, Zach Pych and Jimmy Jeffries had two hits apiece in the victory.
No. 13 Plainfield South 6, Lincoln-Way East 4
Trey Stewart drove in three runs and Marco Escobar had two hits for South. Nick Ochs allowed two earned runs in five innings for the win.
No. 14 Naperville Central 2, Metea Valley 1
Ryan Eiermann pitched a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts and no walks to outduel Metea’s Joey Coryell, who allowed three hits and one earned run in the hard-luck loss. Conor Joyce went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the victory.
No. 15 Waterloo 10, Pinckneyville 1
Aaron Laskowski pitched a four-hitter and Cole Hilam homered, doubled and drove in two runs for Waterloo. Hayden Bender and Max Jennings had two hits apiece for Waterloo.

Erik Kaiser went 2-for-2 with two RBI and four Waterloo pitchers combined on a four-hitter. Lucas Goodsell allowed two hits in three scoreless innings to earn the win in relief.
Evanston 4, No. 20 Libertyville 3
Adam Geibel (3-for-4) and Alex Moore (2-for-3) had RBI singles as Evanston ralied for four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
No. 21 Marist 5, Niles Notre Dame 3
Brian Wood singled, doubled and scored twice and Marist broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the top of the sixth.

Sam Ferri’s two-run double was the big blow in the Dons’ three-run rally in the top of the seventh. Winning pitcher Nick Stefanowicz struck out six in 3⅔ innings of relief.
No. 22 Normal Community 1, No. 18 Champaign Central 0
Jackson Bronke pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts and four walks to make the Ironmen’s first-inning run hold up. J.D. Villafuerte, Zack Peckmann and Thadden Brown had two hits apiece in the victory.

Miles Simington went 2-for-3 with three RBI and Jake Gilhaus added two hits and two RBI for the Ironmen. Joe Aielts went 4-for-4 with two triples and two RBI for Central.

Dom Connolly went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI and Joe Kelley went 2-for-2 with two runs for Lemont. Rob Walik allowed two runs and four hits in five innings for the win.

Dylan Gilbert went 2-for-4 with a home run to finish the week 12-for-16 with two homers, seven extra-base hits and nine RBI. Sophomore lefty Will McMananman went the distance in the victory.
Lake Zurich 4, Palatine 2
Ben Cornelius scattered eight hits in six innings and the Bears made the most of their four hits off Palatine’s Matthew Lamm and Brent Penrose, who did not allow an earned run.
Stevenson 10, Hersey 6
Jack Housinger’s two-run double was one of just three hits by the Patriots, who took advantage of four errors and eight walks.

Robert McGaha had two hits and Patrick Loeffler had two RBI and scored two runs for Stevenson.

Will Michalski pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts for Mundelein. Jake Breitenreiter and Drew Breitenreiter had two hits apiece for Mundelein.

Brady Hough struck out 15 in a three-hitter for Notre Dame. Luke Shadid had two hits and four stolen bases for the Irish.

Caleb Jacobs’ three-run homer in the first inning gave West the lead for good. Peyton Dillingham had three hits and Brock Hirn added a two-run double in the victory.

Nick Hermann allowed an unearned run on four hits in 6⅔ innings and went 2-for-3 in the victory.

Tom Kenney went 3-for-5 and M-S pounded out 14 hits.

William Purdom and Foster Heise had two hits apiece and St. Francis scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take the lead for good. Ryan Hodgett struck out the final two batters with runners on first and second to save the victory for Colin Wisted. Jack Hendricks went 4-for-4 for Fenwick.

Christian Beal had three hits and three RBI for the Spartans. Matt Mulhern allowed five hits

Sam Reichert drove in four runs and Cole Rodby pitched five solid innings for the Dolphins.

John Czeslawski pitched a two-hitter with six strikeouts and two walks for the Knights. Grant Zellmer went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run.
Buffalo Grove 15, Glenbrook South 14
The Bison forced extra innings with five in the bottom of the seventh and won it on Chase Marsh’s walk-off single in the eighth. Kurt Kelly had five RBI in the victory.

Mac Camardo doubled twice and had three RBI for the Bison. Connor Burhop pitched a two-hitter in the five-inning victory.
Conant 16, Maine South 10
Ryan Roberts went 4-for-5, Logan Smith doubled twice and scored four runs and Conant pounded out 15 hits in the victory.

Dylan Baer went 4-for-4 with a home run and Justin Hasegawa added three hits for Geneva.
St. Charles East 11, West Chicago 1
Niko Klebosits had two hits and two RBI and Kyle Tiltges tripled, singled and scored two runs in the five-inning victory. Shawn Ligocki allowed two hits and four walks while striking out four.
Prairie Ridge 4, Huntley 2
Jon Tieman went 3-for-3 and Joey Henley, Ryan Schmit and Luke Annen combined on a four-hitter for the Wolves.
Grayslake Central 9, McHenry 3
Kyle Allen had three hits for Grayslake Central. Colton Klein went 4-for-4 for McHenry.
Stagg 14, Argo 8
Josh Nowak hit a two-run homer in the first inning and Stagg scored the game’s first 13 runs before Argo rallied to make it a seven-inning game. Nate Miranda had three RBI in the victory.
Plainfield Central 10, Elk Grove 9
Matt Bunett’s two-run double capped Plainfield Central’s four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh. Christian Camacho went 4-for-4 with three RBI and three runs for Elk Grove, which lead 9-4 midway through the sixth inning.
Minooka 8, Lockport 7
Joe Butler went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Jon Butler had two hits, two RBI and three runs in the victory. Anthony Cocco had three hits for Lockport.
Andrew 16, Richards 14
Jack Crean had three hits and four RBI, including a two-run triple to give Andrew the lead in its eight-run sixth-inning rally. Mike Carey and Brian Gebert had three hits apiece in the victory.
Plainfield East 8, Bremen 4
Drew DeMumbrum hit a three-run homer and Jacob Barlev allowed two hits and no walks while striking out five in five scoreless innings.
Joliet West 4, Simeon 3
Nicholas Gulliford’s two-run single in the top of the sixth broke a 2-2 tie. He went 2-for-3 and was the only player on either team with multiple hits. Thomas Purcell allowed three unearned runs on four hits in six innings for the win.
Homewood-Flossmoor 9, Beecher 5
Jordan Fox had three RBI and Nicholas McAlister scored four runs for H-F.
Oswego 7, Riverside-Brookfield 3
Luke Torrez and Cole Aughenbaugh pitched 5⅓ innings of scroeless relief and Tanner Sohst reached base three times and drove in two runs for the Panthers.
Lincoln-Way West 13, Evergreen Park 2
A.J. Ashley hit a home run and Ben Zordani went 3-for-4 with three RBI and three runs for West.

Tom Laberry won it for West with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh. Dan Allen had two RBI in the victory.
Kaneland 5, Aurora Central Catholic 4
Luke Calabrese and Jack Weigand had three hits apiece and Kaneland pushed across an unearned run in the top of the eighth. Will Ring allowed one hit in three scoreless innings of relief for the win.
Neuqua Valley 5, Waubonsie Valley 2
Will Drake hit a home run and added an RBI triple in the four-run fifth for Neuqua. Austin Waeghe allowed five hits and struck out six in the complete-game victory.
Naperville North 2, Wheaton North 1
Matt Pillatsch pitched a complete game and ignited Naperville North’s two-run second inning with a leadoff bunt single. Pillatsch allowed five hits and a walk while striking out four.
Hinsdale Central 7, Leyden 2
Spencer Tate hit a home run and Andrew Jurack tripled and had two RBI for Central.
Bartlett 6, Geneva 2
Martin Moreno and Shane Donovan had two hits apiece and Scott Ruedel had an RBI double for Bartlett.
Huntley 4, Prairie Ridge 0
Six Huntley pitchers combined on a five-hit shutout. Joe Boland had two hits.
Glenbard East 9, Elgin 1
Nathan Bertuca pitched a four-hitter and Jake Heyman went 3-for-4 with two doubles for the Rams.
Burlington Central 9, Barrington 8
Brandon Van Buren’s two-run single tied the score at 8 and Paddy McKermitt (3-for-3, four RBI) followed with a walk-off single as Central countered Barrington’s three-run top-of-the-seventh with three in the bottom of the inning.

Adam Sojda pitched a two-hitter with 13 strikeouts and Ryan Fitzgerald went 3-for-3 in the victory.
