Evaluation: 8/7/16- 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed hitting third baseman. Wider square stance, athletic upper half with good rhythm in hands, leg kick trigger, stands up through contact, lift in swing plane, contact underneath baseball, 83 mph exit velocity. Good pre-pitch, works from ground up, flat glove/ stiff at times fielding, shows mobility and range, accurate throws to bag, 76 mph arm strength across.
PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?
LECHNER: Currently I have been talking with Central College in Pella.
PBR: Have you taken any visits? Do you have any scheduled in the near future?
LECHNER: They are the one school I have visited so far.
PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school?
LECHNER: I would like to find a school with strong science programs.
PBR: What were some of the highlights of your junior year?
LECHNER: Started at 3rd base and 2nd base on the varsity team. 14 RBI in 79 AB, 5 doubles, 6 for 6 on stolen base attempts.
PBR: What are your goals for this year?
LECHNER: School wise would be to get a 3.75 GPA my senior year. Baseball wise would be to have a batting average in the .400 range, 20 stolen bases and to make it to the state tournament.
PBR: Do you play any other sports?
LECHNER: Not anymore. I did play basketball through freshman year and football in jr. high. Now I just concentrate on baseball.
PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?
LECHNER: My ACT is a 24 and I have a 3.35 GPA.
