Evaluation: 6-foot-1, 165-pound 2-way player. Roeder ran a 7.35 60 at this event. Has made adjustments to hitting mechanics. Added a balanced short leg kick trigger. Is more down and through baseballs with greater extension through zone. Line drive swing plane with above average power. Gap to gap approach with solid contact. 89 mph exit velocity. Plays with energy defensively. Glove is solid and uses momentum on throws. Shows ability to adjust feet on bad hops. Has accuracy and carry. Tends to field deep in stance. Overall Strong Follow for 2016 class with ability to drive baseball and chance to continue to develop at shortstop.

PBR: Why did you choose Southeastern CC?
ROEDER: I chose Southeastern because they have a great track record of sending their players to successful programs and also developing them to the best of their ability. The coaches are great, very knowledgeable, and are very serious about the game just like me. They also have great facilities for their players to develop.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?
ROEDER: After I decided I wanted to go the JUCO route; it was between Southeastern and Kirkwood.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
ROEDER: The coaches saw me play throughout the summer and also a little bit in the fall. Coach Schulte gave me a call right before the fall season and we developed a great relationship from there and also on my visit.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
ROEDER: Yes, very much! I can focus solely on school and also getting a lot stronger and faster for next season.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
ROEDER: There was two actually. The first one was the coaches. I know they will push me to do my best and develop me to the best of my ability and help me move to another great program after two years. The second one was their track record of sending players to the next level. They take pride in getting you to be the best player you can be.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
ROEDER: There are a couple people that have gotten me where I am today. First is Aaron and Jim Van Scoyoc- they've been my spring and fall coaches for the past year and I have learned more about baseball from them then I have my whole life; they have also pushed me to get better every day. My high school coach, Kyle Rodenkirk, has also helped me by pushing me every day at practice and games and also giving me the motivation to give it my best and good things will happen. He's given me and my team a blue-collar work ethic and it has been very successful for us since he's been at Jefferson. Also, my parents and grandpa have helped me a ton by placing me into these events to get exposure and pushing me to get better every single day.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
ROEDER: I thought the recruiting process would take a lot of time and travel. It did and I got to see almost every level of baseball and how each division was. I've asked older friends that are in college what the recruiting process was like and that also got me ready of what to expect.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
ROEDER: Coach Schulte likes me at any position in the infield, especially the left side. I believe I will get the opportunity to play all of the positions in the infield but more on the left side. Coach Schulte also likes my hitting ability by being able to put the ball into the gaps to produce runs while hitting for a high average.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
ROEDER: My most memorable baseball moments was probably playing down in the PG National Underclass Showcase in Ft. Myers, Florida last Christmas, and also playing at Lakepoint in Atlanta, Georgia over Labor Day Weekend. Both were unforgettable memories.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
ROEDER: The best person I've competed against was Mitch Keller in the spring of my sophomore year; the same year he got drafted by the Pirates.
