PBR: Why did you choose Southeastern CC?
MARTIN: I chose it because I felt like it was the right one when I was on campus, and they have an outstanding program.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
MARTIN: I also considered Iowa Central and DMACC.
PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
MARTIN: They saw me at a couple showcases and at the state tournament. We just kept in touch and that allowed us to build a relationship.
PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
MARTIN: I am a little relieved, it is nice to have what college you are going to attend figured out. It is just one less thing to think about during my senior baseball season.
PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?
MARTIN: Their facilities were really nice. The atmosphere on campus is very good..
PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?
MARTIN: My parents have always been huge supporters of mine along with the rest of my family, and the SEP coaching staff has been very good to me.
PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?
MARTIN: I went into it kind of clueless and a couple games into the season I stared getting calls and I was shocked at how fast it came about. It wasn't too difficult. Making the final decision was the hardest part by far.
PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?
MARTIN: They want me to come in and be a young guy that can compete early for playing time.
PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?
MARTIN: Winning back-to-back State Titles was pretty cool.
PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
MARTIN: The CIML is full of talent and good competition. There are too many to name.
