Prep Baseball Report Iowa
Trey Bronner, SS, Cedar Falls, Class of 2015
PBR: Why did you choose Iowa Central CC?
BRONNER: I choose Iowa Central CC because of the way Coach Pederson runs his program. He wants and knows how to win and I really like that. Him and his coaching staff know how to develop players and get them to the next level. Also because of the proximity to home so my family will be able to come and watch me play.
PBR: What other schools were you considering?
BRONNER: I was considering Harper College (Chicago), Truman State (Missouri), Gustavus Adolphus (Minnesota), and Waubonsee CC (Illinois).
PBR: Where did they first see you? How did your relationship develop with the coaching staff?
BRONNER: They first saw me play at Riverfront Stadium for the Metro Tournament in the Cedar Valley. From there we kept in contact and I made sure to send Coach Pederson my films.
PBR: What role do you expect to play your first year on campus?
BRONNER: I expect to play a role in which I can be successful and help the team win.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
BRONNER: My parents have the biggest impact on me as a baseball player. They have always believed in me and helped me along the way and made a lot of sacrifices for me to be in the position I am today.
PBR: What have you worked on/ improved since last year?
BRONNER: I have really been working on my bat speed and being more explosive with my swing.
PBR: Who is the toughest player that you have faced in Iowa?
BRONNER: The toughest player I've faced in Iowa is Cole Baker. Has a good fastball with deceptive off-speed stuff.
PBR: What are your thoughts on the recruiting process? Any advice for future players in your position.
BRONNER: The recruiting process is pretty exciting. For advice, I would say not to get stressed out about it. There is a place to play for everyone and you only go through the process once in your life so enjoy it.
