PBR: Why did you choose Heartland CC?
SELLS: I chose Heartland because of the great atmosphere and the history in the program, as well as having a great academic program.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

SELLS: Iowa Western CC, Olivet Nazarene University, St. Cloud State University and Lincoln Memorial University, as well as others.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them?
SELLS: They first saw me when I went on a visit January of 2015 and the relationship grew as the spring and summer went on.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school?
SELLS: Yeah I am a little relieved that the process is over, but there is now a lot more work to be done.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top?

SELLS: Yes, there was. The way the coaches treated me and all of the facilities they had to offer were great. I also saw myself being there.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today?

SELLS: After my parents the most influential people in baseball for me are Jim Hallman, Jake Shandri and the rest of the Sportsplex staff, along with all the Valley High School coaches throughout my high school years.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult?

SELLS: My expectations were unknown since I will be the first in the family to play baseball at the college level. But from my perspective it was interesting but not stressful.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season?

SELLS: I am not sure, but my goal is to start my freshman year.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date?

SELLS: Making it to the sub-state final during Summer 2015 season.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?

SELLS: Joey Polak, a South Carolina commit, from Illinois.
