Prep Baseball Report's IA Fall Review event took place on Sunday, October 16, 2016. The event was held indoors at Sports Iowa located in Ames, Iowa. The event featured 2017-2020 prospects from Iowa and Kansas who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff. catching Prospects

Logan Booker, C, North Scott, 2019
5-foot-11, 145-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 7.91 runner. Square stance, no stride with front heel turn trigger, rotational swing, falls back at contact occasionally, gap to gap approach, line drive and ground ball contact, 74 mph exit velocity. Works through plate with good direction and footwork, clean exchanges, limited use of front side on throws, mobile behind dish, shows ability to receive, has soft hands, 2.25-2.41 pop times with 71 mph arm strength.

Christopher Fowles, C, Ames, 2018
6-foot, 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Strong build with present strength. 7.76 runner. Square stance, lower pre-set hand position, slight lift through swing plane, mid/pull approach, uses hands well in swing, has strength in swing, fly ball and line drive contact with flashes of pop to pull side, 84 mph exit velocity. Shows appropriate footwork on throws, clean exchanges, slight hitch in arm action, accurate to bag consistently, average mobility behind plate, effective blocker, holds pitches in zone, 74 mph arm strength with pop times in 2.02-2.21 range.

Patrick Walsh, C, St. Thomas Academy (MN), 2019
5-foot-10, 180-pound right-handed hitting catcher. 8.15 runner. Square stance, active load, has balance in stride and swing, line drive swing plane, gap to gap approach, shows ability to use whole field, tends to roll hands over early through contact losing power, 66 mph exit velocity. Works around plate with footwork, length to exchange and release, low ¾ arm slot, comfortable stance, receives well holding pitches in zone, throws short to bag, 2.22-2.37 pop times with 68 mph arm strength. Usable glove in field, average range, long release on throws, accurate to bag, 70 mph arm strength across infield.
