Prep Baseball Report's Eastern IA Prospect I.D. event took place on Sunday, March 6, 2016. The event was held at Eastern Iowa Sports Facility in Monticello, IA. The event featured prospects from the 2016-2017-2018 and 2019 classes who showcased their talents in front of our scouting staff and multiple coaches in attendance.

Each day we will breakdown the players in attendance by position; highlighting the top player in attendance; and culminating with our list of the Top Prospects Overall at the event.

Kaj Robinson, OF, Johnston, 2016
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 4.13 home-to-first time. Lean athletic body. Open stance with short leg kick/double tap trigger. Deep load. Aggressive all or nothing swing. Pull approach. Flashes hard contact with 88 mph exit velocity off tee. Rangy and quick in outfield. Above avg. actions. Aggressive athletic routes to ball. Quick release with solid arm strength and carry at 85 mph. Raw offensively but most athletic outfielder at event with arm and actions.

Brandon Charles, OF, Davenport West, 2016
6-foot-2, 220-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. Short leg kick trigger. Inverted swing plane. Controlled aggressive swing. Flashes good pop in bat. Hard rollover contact with pull approach at this event. 86 mph exit velocity. Avg. actions in outfield. Heavier feet. Fields routine with accurate arm. Avg. carry on throws with 76 mph arm strength.

William Christophersen, RHP/OF, Pleasant Valley, 2018
6-foot-4, 180-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 4.31 home-to-first time. Lanky build with some wiry strength. Uncontrolled swing. Aggressive approach. Creates bat speed. Hard contact to mid/oppo gap. 87 mph exit velocity. Avg. actions fielding in outfield. Shows arm strength with above avg. carry on throws and 84 mph velocity.

Brady Ellison, OF, Central Dewitt, 2018
5-foot-11, 165-pound left-handed hitting outfielder. 4.35 home-to-first time. Shows avg. pop in bat. Solid set-up. Slight arm bar in load. Heavy pull approach with stiff lower half in swing. 81 mph exit velocity. Good feet and solid actions in outfield. Stiff throwing actions with accuracy and avg. carry to target at 77 mph.

Ethan Hayes, OF/3B, Cedar Falls, 2017
6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed hitting position player. 5.04 40-yard dash. Bigger leg kick trigger. Creates some whip through zone. Short finish through contact. Some moving parts effect timing. Hard contact to middle of field. Will improve with greater extension through contact. 91 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid actions in outfield. Proto corner OF’er. Short arm action with accurate throws. Shows good routes to ball with solid hands and feet. 85 mph arm from outfield.

Keller Hayes, OF/RHP, Harrisonville (MO), 2017
5-foot-9, 208-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. Shows above avg. bat with strength. Quiet approach with clean bat path. Above avg. pop and shows ability to make hard contact to all fields. Stays on-down and through baseball consistently. 83 mph exit velocity off tee. Avg. defender in outfield. Fields on side of ball. Heavy feet. Short arm action with 70 mph throws to target.

Blaise Rosson, OF, Burlington, 2018
5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 4.01 home-to-first time. Shows potential with bat. Controlled leg kick trigger. Creates bat speed and flashes some pop in bat. Mid/pull approach. Aggressive swing and look to drive baseball. Some stiffness but consistently squares baseball. 81 mph exit velocity. Solid actions in outfield. Has range and moves well at position. Stiff throwing actions. Needs to use more momentum on throws. Throws are accurate to target with solid carry at 79 mph. Follow in 2018 class.

Logan Sims, OF, Iowa City West, 2017
6-foot, 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 4.07 home-to-first time. Lean body with wiry strength. Leg kick trigger. Oppo approach. High back elbow creates length to contact. Flashes avg. pop in bat with solid contact. 82 mph exit velocity off tee. Solid athleticism in outfield with raw footwork and routes. Has accuracy from short arm action producing 80 mph throws.

Everett Willson, OF, Burlington, 2018
6-foot, 178-pound right-handed hitting outfielder. 4.17 home-to-first time. Crouched stance with inverted swing plane. Upper half cuts off hips in swing. Middle-oppo approach. Avg. pop in bat with solid contact. 81 mph exit velocity. Raw mechanically in outfield. 2-hand fielder. Fields ball on side effecting balance, direction and momentum to target. Stiff ¾ arm slot. 74 mph arm strength on throws from outfield.
