Orlando, Fl --- The CFBL continued play today with Bishop Moore HS traveling to Wekiva HS. We covered Wekiva last week lead by uncommitted 2016 C Mike Brown continuing to show off his defensive skills with advanced arm strength from behind the plate and young athletic 2017 OF Jacob Wakefield Wekiva HS. Bishop Moore, on the other hand had a few senior commits like 2016 3B/RHP/OF Joe Skinner Bishop Moore HS and 2016 1B/LHP Rigsby Mosely Bishop Moore HS. It was mostly all about the Bishop Moore bats today as 2017 OF Seth Martin lead the way with 4 hits and a lot of hard contact. Here’s my notes on todays’ action.
Joe Skinner 3B/OF/RHP Bishop Moore HS 2016
University of Central Florida commit. 6-foot-2, 190 pounder with a strong athletic live body. Loose quick bat with aggressive approach and some power. Had a couple extra base hits on the night. Threw 82-83 mph off the mound at a low arm slot. Showed a short tight breaking ball with occasional depth. Athletic infield actions with plenty of arm for the left side of the infield. Also looked like an above average runner under way. Very athletic kid.
Seth Martin OF Bishop Moore HS 2016
Uncommitted Senior. 5-foot-10, 170 pound outfielder with loose athletic actions in the OF with enough arm. Good approach at the plate with a good bat path. Barrel stays in the zone. Makes a lot of contact. Had quite a day with four hits and a couple hard hit outs. Power will come with physical maturity. Athletic projectable body.
Rigsby Mosely LHP/1B Bishop Moore HS
Troy commit. 6-foot-2, 180 pound LHP/1B with a lean loose projectable body. Loose actions at first base with good hands. Loose quick bat with good leverage when he gets extended. Has some length with lift in bat path. Good quickness in hands. Power will come with added strength. Did not see him pitch today, but has been 85-88 mph in the past.
Mike Brown C Wekiva HS 2016
Uncommitted Senior. 5-foot-10, 175 pound catcher with a lean athletic body on a medium sized frame. Good catch and throw guy with strong accurate throws to second base. Threw 2 guys out trying to steal. Solid receiver with good mobility. Blocks well. Hustles. Simple approach at the plate with good hand eye. Contact type hitter. Singles type guy.
Jacob Wakefield OF Wekiva HS 2017
6-foot, 175 pound outfielder with a loose lean live athletic projectable body. Has a good gate under way. Ran 4.26 and a 4.34 to 1B from the right side. Has quickness in the bat with a somewhat crude approach. Strength and power will come with physical maturity.
