Key West Rolls to 8-3 Victory over Stoneman Douglas

KEY WEST-- Led by Jay Feathers (2015 OF/MIF/P) who went 2 for 2 with a walk and three RBI's and Greg Veliz (2016 P/INF) who went 2 for 2 with an intentional walk and hit by pitch and one RBI, the Conchs were able to win 8-3.
Douglas got off to a hot start when they scored two runs in the top of the first off a single by 2015 1B Blake Bottomley. Key West was able to get one back in the bottom half when 2015 P/OF hit a single to right to bring in Veliz. After a scoreless top of the second, the Conchs scored three off the bats of a 2015 MIF Carlos O'Farrill who had an RBI single, 2015 MIF Anthony Enriquez who bunted in a run, and Veliz who roped an RBI triple to left.
The Eagles were able to get a run back in the fourth when 2015 OF/C Yorvis Torrealba scored from third on throwing error down to second base. The Conchs did not score in the bottom half but still led 4-3. The Eagles stranded baser runners in the fifth before Feathers delivered a bases-clearing double to left that brought in three more runs. The Conchs scored their last run in the bottom of the sixth when 2015 C Chris Varela hit an RBI single to left. After a 1-2-3 seventh, Key West won the contest 8-3.
