TAMPA-- Senior 3B/RHP and FSU signee Ronnie Ramirez led the way for the Tigers by hitting a deep home run well over the left field wall and closing out the game on the mound with two shutout innings. Also, 2016 RHP JJ Niekro threw four innings and allowed no runs on only one hit.
After a scoreless first inning and top of the second, Ramirez launched his solo shot to left with one out to put the Tigers up 1-0. In the top of the fourth, 2016 OF Elijah Anderson laced a one out single up the middle for the only Spartans hit of the game.
Jesuit scored their second and final run in the bottom of the sixth when 2015 OF and North Carolina signee Cole Gibbs reached on a dropped third strike, 2016 1B/C Braxton Rupp hit a line drive single to left, Ronnie Ramirez was hit by a pitch, and Gibbs scored on a passed ball. Ramirez then shut the door with a 1-2-3 seventh inning including two strikeouts.
