Hagerty Takes Pitchers Duel 1-0 Over Masters Academy

OVIEDO, FL- Cross-town rivals Hagerty and Masters Academy squared off in the seasons opening game Tuesday night. In the top of the second inning Joey Schulz doubled to left field to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a sacrifice. Frank Cotugno came to the plate and doubled to right field driving in Schulz for the only run of the game, as Hagerty went on to defeat Masters Academy 1-0.
Central Florida commit and the 9th ranked player in the Florida class of 2015 Ryan Mountcastle went 1-2 in the game with a triple and a walk. Hagerty pitchers Joe Sheridan a Central Florida commit and Brian Ellis combined to allow 5 hits and strikeout 8 in the shutout.
