Orlando, FL—The Central Florida Play Hard Showcase had a good turnout of young talent, but also had a few uncommitted seniors that can definitely play at the next level. One was 2016 OF/RHP Francisco Ramos (Cypress Creek HS, FL). Ramos is a physical specimen at 6-foot-5, 180 pounds. He has a very athletic body with a very high ceiling. These are the type of young athletic bodies we look for when we project.
Ramos ran a 6.88-second 60 and showed athletic actions in the outfield with a good release. He moves well in the outfield, but will be limited to a corner position due to his range and arm strength. His best tool is his left-handed power. He shows wiry strength and late bat speed with natural loft in swing. He has really worked on his bat path and it showed last Saturday when he showed consistent home run power to all fields. He already has power now, but with his frame, he can easily add size and strength giving him big future power. He can definitely play at the next level and I look forward to following his progress.
