Boca Raton Knocks Off West Broward In Season Opener

BOCA RATON, FL- In the season opener Boca Raton opened up a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st and never looked back, en route to a 4-2 victory over West Broward.
In the bottom of the 1st with Boca Raton already leading 1-0, Carlos Leon stepped to the plate with two men on and tripled to right field, clearing the bases and giving Boca Raton a 3-0 lead. In the top of the 3rd inning West Broward loaded the bases and got on the board with a one out RBI single from Daniel Ableman. With the bases still loaded Boca starter Mitchell Senger buckled down and struck out the next two batters to end the inning and persevere the 3-1 lead.
One of the top players in the 2016 class and University of Miami commit Michael Amditis homered to center field giving Boca a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 3rd. West Broward added a run against Boca reliever Dalton Senger in the top of the 6th to cut the lead to 4-2, but it would not be enough.
