GIBSONTON – Bloomingdale rode a strong pitching performance, timely hitting, and solid defense to defeat East Bay 6-0. Starting 2015 RHP and FSU Signee Logan Crouse threw five shutout innings allowing one hit, no runs, and striking out seven. Reliever, and younger brother, Carson Crouse (2016 RHP/1B) threw the last two innings and gave up no runs on one hit and struck out four. Offensively, the Bulls were led by 2015 OF Conrado Skepple who went 3-4 with a double and two RBI’s, and 2015 OF Doug Sandberg who went 3-3 with a walk and RBI.
The game was scoreless until the fourth when the Bulls scored three runs—one off an Austin James (2016 SS and FIU commit) single, one off a single by Sandberg, and one that scored on a fielder’s choice. Bloomingdale scored two more in the fifth when Skepple hit a two out single that scored two runs that gave them a 5-0 lead.
In the sixth, Sandberg led off the inning with a single, stole second, and was later driven in by 2015 RHP/1B Daylon Owens who hit a backside single to left. Older brother Logan had held the Indians scoreless for five and younger brother Carson took over in the sixth with a nice cushion and shut the door with two shutout innings of his own to help seal the win for Bloomingdale.
