The Alonso Ravens took down the Leto Falcons 4-0 behind a dominating pitching performance from 2015 LHP and Texas Signee Nick Kennedy. Kennedy pitched all seven innings and gave up no runs on only one hit. At the plate, 2017 OF/LHP and Florida commit Jordan Butler went 2-4 with a double and two RBI’s. 2016 OF and Florida State commit Ryan Mejia also went 2-3 with a stolen base.
Alonso got on the board early when Butler roped a backside double to left in the top of the first to bring in a run. After a scoreless second, the Ravens scored their second run of the game off the bat of Butler a single. In the bottom of third, the Falcons produced their only hit which was off the bat of 2015 LHP/OF and Tallahassee CC Signee Felix Dieguez.
The game then went scoreless until the top of the seventh when 2017 INF Jose Ciccarello ripped an RBI single to left. Alonso’s final run came off the bat of 2016 IF/OF/P Peyton Woble who lined a single to left as well. Kennedy then worked a 1-2-3 bottom half to secure the victory for the Ravens.
