The speedy outfielder also played his best during the 5A state championship run. In 7 playoff games and 21 AB's Anderson hit .523 in the playoffs accounting for 9 runs, 2HR, and 7RBI's. Cole will another player to watch in 2015.
PBR: Why did you choose New Mexico?
Anderson: I had a good feeling from the beginning. It seemed like the right fit.
PBR: Where did New Mexico first see you compete?
Anderson: They have seen me off and on the past couple of years. They have recruited Rocky players in the past, and I’m sure they saw me at Rocky and tournaments.
PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?
Anderson: I’m not sure what my role will be yet. I’m just going to go in there work hard and try to earn a spot.
PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help New Mexico?
Anderson: Speed is my biggest strength, and with New Mexico having a turf field, hopefully my speed can play a role.
PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?
Anderson: There has been so many coaches and family along the way, I can’t name them all.
PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience?
Anderson: I played for Rocky’s Legion A team this past summer. The most exciting experience was getting the chance to play in Rapid City, SD at the Firecracker Tournament.
PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Colorado?
Anderson: Tyler Loptien by far (Thunder Ridge High School). He has incredible off speed.
PBR: What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?
Anderson: As a team, our goal is to get back to All City Field, and defend our state title. Individually, I’m just going to go out there and do my thing. Hopefully I can match the season I had last year.
