Windsor, CO - Erie beats Windsor twice in a double header
Saturday saw two the of the top 4A teams compete in an important league matchup. Both teams entered 8-0 in league play and Erie would go on and sweep Windsor in the double header shutting them out twice. Erie now has a stronghold on the 4A Tri-Valley League.
Erie 4 Windsor 0
The Tigers get a big 4A win and were led by, Nic Gavit, who went 2-3 with 1 run, 2 RBI and Kyle Leahy who tossed 7 innings of shutout ball giving up 4 hits and striking out 6. Windsor was led offensively by, Mitchell Watson who had a 2-3 day. Jake Geenwalt of Windsor was also impressive on the mound. His line was 6.0 innings, 9 hits, 4 ER, 5 K’s.
Erie 1 Windsor 0
Game two was a pitchers battle and saw Zane Begano come out on top for the Tigers. Begano went 7 innings giving up 2 hits, 0 runs and striking out 6. Cole Brandon was on the mound for the Wizards and went 7 innings giving up 7 hits, 1 run and collected 5 strikeouts.
Erie is now 12 and 2 on the season and 10-0 in league. Windsor is now 10-4 on the season and 8-2 in league. Up next for Erie is Roosevelt to be played by at Erie on 4/23. Windsor will be traveling to Longmont on 4/21.
