We're looking back at the top 10 most viewed profiles on our website from the year of 2014. Coming in at No. 2 on our list is 2015 No. 2 Ranked Wyatt Cross, C, Legacy High School and North Carolina Commit. Below you can read recent Q&A we did with Cross after signing with North Carolina.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound North Carolina commit looks to continue the national attention he gained over the summer while traveling the country and participating in some of the biggest events for a Rising Senior. Cross showed off his strong arm (1.90-1.95 pop times) and quick feet in Cary, NC at USA Baseball Tournament of Stars. He then got the opportunity to travel to Chicago where he participated in the 2014 Under Armour Wyatt Cross All-America game at Wrigley Field.

Cross will once again be behind the dish for the Lightning from Legacy High School come this spring. He will be asked to handle a pitching staff that lost ace Lucas Gilbreath. At the plate Cross is an imposing left handed swinger with above average gap-to-gap power. Cross will be a three-year starter this spring and will be the cornerstone of a Lightning team competing in a tough Front Range League. We also look forward to see how far Cross can move up the MLB Draft Board in 2015.

Recently we caught up with Wyatt Cross and here is what he had to say.

PBR: Why did you choose North Carolina?

Cross: It was a combination of the baseball coaches & UNC program, as well as what the school has to offer me academically.

PBR: What role do the coaches expect you to play during your first year on campus?

Cross: I believe they expect me to utilize my talents as they see fit, helping my team have a successful season

PBR: What is your biggest strength as a player and how do you feel that will help UNC?

Cross: My defensive abilities behind the plate.

PBR: Who has had the biggest impact on you as a baseball player?

Cross: I’ve been blessed with a number of great people who’ve had a positive impact on me as a player, however, Tad Reida stands out most. He was my coach when I played for Cage Rat baseball and continues to work with me today.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was your most exciting experience?

Cross: I played for FTB Chandler, a team based out of Orlando, FL, this past summer. My most exciting summer experience was playing in Perfect Game’s All-American game in San Diego and in Under Armour’s All-American game at Wrigley Field.

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher you have faced in Colorado?

Cross: My Legacy HS teammate, Lucas Gilbreath, a 2014 grad

PBR: What are your goals both individually and for the team going into your senior season?

Cross: My goal is to play to the best of my ability, getting stronger, bigger, faster. I want to be able to help my team any way I can.
