Season Preview: Star City High School

PBR: What are your expectations for your team this spring?

Coach Johnson: My expectations for my team is to work hard, to get better every day, and to make postseason play.

PBR: Who is going to be your key contributors on the mound this spring?

Coach Johnson: The key pitchers for us this year will be juniors Blake Wynn, Garry Hill, and Austin Powell.

PBR: For your offense to be effective who do you expect to set the table? Who do you expect to drive in runs?

Coach Johnson: Austin Powell, Austin Capps, Tye Brown, Garry Hill, and Blake Wynn will have to lead us offensively.

PBR: Which Underclassmen do you need to step up and fill a void by last year’s seniors?

Coach Johnson: we need Jacob Courson, Cole Muckelroy, Dallas Collins, and Cody Hall to step up and have big years for us.

PBR: Who is the team to beat in your conference/ your classification?

Coach Johnson: State-Arkadelphia is team to beat. Conference: I would say Monticello, Hamburg, and Crossett will all be pretty tough.

PBR: What is your biggest non-conference game and why?

Coach Johnson: We have a pretty tough non-conference schedule. I wouldn't be able to narrow it down to just one game. We just have to approach every non-conference game the same to just continue to make improvements to prepare us for later in season.

PBR: What tournaments is your team attending this spring?

Coach Johnson: Ralph Gross memorial in Nashville
We host our on spring tournament also. It is called Los Toritos Spring Break Tournament.
