2018 Rankings Released

With the beginning of the season just a week away, Prep Baseball Report has released the initial rankings for Arkansas Class of 2018. This class is looks to be deep with a mix of everything right-handed pitchers, left-hander pitchers, physical hitters, athletic outfielders and just all around baseball players.
SS/RHP Kamron Hunt is the #1 one player in our 2018 rankings. Hunt is a 5-11 170-pound athlete with a medium frame and an athletic build. At short-stop he has smooth footwork and soft hands as he plays through the baseball. Offensively he has a short compact swing that produces line drives. He does a good job maintaining balance through his swing to extension. On the mound he pitches off his fastball 80-83 mph with a 12/6 curveball and a change up that is a work in progress. His pure athleticism gives him a high ceiling to project to. Jordan Wicks is ranked 2nd in the 2018 rankings. He is 6-foot-1 180 pound LHP from Conway High School. He works from a 3/4 arm slot with a quick clean arm. He has smooth rhythm and good extension. His fastball is thrown 79-81 mph with arm-side run. He commands a slider with 2/8 action thrown at 70 mph. His change up is thrown 68-70 mph with arm-side run. Wicks is a polished 2018 pitcher with his frame and advanced pitch-ability for a young player I expect him to continue to develop and be very good.
Rounding out the top 10 are 1B/RHP Luke Johnson (Shiloh Christian HS), LHP Evan Hiatt (Catholic HS), RHP/C Nick Farkouri (Sylvan Hills HS), 1B/RHP Tyler Johnson (Bentonville HS), RHP/SS Connor McCullough (Maumelle HS) , LHP/OF Kaleb Hill ( Watson Chapel HS), C Jackson Stroth (Conway HS) ,OF RHP Landon Brown (Shiloh Christian HS).
