2015 Overall Rankings Released; 3 Arkansans Added

The updated 2015 rankings were released on Feb. 25th. Three Arkansans were added to Prep Baseball Reports’ top 400 players. Ty Harris, Walker Powell, and Cody Scroggins join the previous eight players that were ranked in November rankings. A slight drop in some players rankings come from the sheer numbers of players being ranked. Since November, Florida, Louisiana, and Maryland have joined Prep Baseball Report’s coverage area. The players from these states have been added to our overall rankings. Below is a looked at all eleven prospects from Arkansas.
#29. Gray Fenter, RHP, West Memphis HS
Fenter attacks hitters aggressively with his low-90s fastball. He sits predominately 91-92 with his fastball, with late life through the zone. He also throws his 78-79 mph with conviction, though with erratic command. Fenter is committed to Mississippi State and is the state’s best professional prospect.
#109. Kacey Murphy, LHP, Heritage HS
The 6-foot, 180-pound, lefthander has above average pitchabilty with three pitches. He can locate his fastball 86-88 mph. His arm action is loose, but he tends to get rotational. He throws his sweeping breaking ball for strikes in all counts. Murphy is committed to Arkansas.
#127. Daniel Sprinkle, RHP, White Hall HS
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-hander works from an H 3/4 arm slot and has a loose arm. He comes to a tall and fall balance point, and does a good job creating leverage. He throws his fastball 90-93 with heavy sink. The secondary is showing signs above improvement with closer to fastball arm speed on his change up and better action with his slider. Sprinkle is committed to Auburn.
#144. Andy Pagnozzi, RHP, Fayetteville HS
Pagnozzi is committed to Ole Miss. He is 6-foot, 190 pound RHP can that really pitch, he has a quality feel for four pitches. His fastball works 84-87 mph up to 89 that he can command on both sides of the plate. He compliments his fastball with a quality slider 76-78 mph and a curveball with 12/6 action, 71-73 mph. He can also commands the change up with fastball arm speed.
#181. Ty Harpenau, RHP, Southside HS
Harpenau is quality two pitch guy. His fastball is 86-89 mph with arm side command. His second pitch is a 2/8 slider with late break thrown 77-79 mph. He really understands how to pitch and knows the game well overall. There is a little extra effort in his delivery but he still maintains good mechanics. He is committed to Texas Tech.
#183. Ty Harris, LHP, Heritage HS
Harris is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound LHP. He commands three pitches for a strike. His fastball is 84-87 mph. He commands a 12/6 curveball with late break. His change up is a quality third pitch that he maintains fastball arm speed and locates on arm side. It appears he is fully recovered from having Tommy John surgery and is ready for a big spring. Harris is committed to Arkansas
#229. Weston Rogers, LHP, Har-Ber HS
Rogers is a 6-foot-4 190-pound, left-hander locates his fastball on both sides of the plate. His fastball is heavy with late life with velocity 85-88 mph. He commands his 12/6 curveball for strikes. The curveball has good depth. He throws his changeup up for strikes, with arm side run. Roger is committed to Arkansas
#211. Blaine Knight, RHP, Bryant HS
Knight is 6-foot-2,160-pound right-hander with a projectable frame. He throws his fastball 86-89 mph. He throws a 2/8 slider with late life that he commands for strikes. He does a good job maintaining fastball arm-speed when he throws his change up. His changeup has good depth and arm side run. Knight will be a guy to watch this spring as his projects to throw harder. Knight is committed to Arkansas and Crowder College.
#266. Walker Powell, RHP Fayetteville HS
Powell is a 6-foot-5 220-pound RHP, with a large frame and a projectable body. He works from a ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action. He pitches off his fastball 85-88 mph with a sink. He throws a curveball and changeup as his secondary pitches. Powell is committed to Southern Miss and will miss this spring recovering from Tommy John.
#268. Drew Tyler, SS, Fayetteville HS
Tyler is 6-foot, 190-pound, infielder shows the ability to play anywhere on the infield, he has soft hands and plays through the ball on a consistent basis. He has good athleticism running a 6.8 60. Offensively he is a consistent hitter with an inside out swing, that consistently squares balls up. He maintains good balance throughout his swing. He is committed to Arkansas.
#373 Cody Scroggins, SS Bentonville HS
Scroggins is an Arkansas commit. He is a 6-foot 170-pound SS with an athletic frame He is a good athlete running a 6.7 60. Defensively he plays with fluid footwork and soft hands as he plays through the baseball. He has a quick exchange with an accurate arm. Offensively he has a short compact sing that produces line drives. He maintains balance through to extension.
