Pitching RH.
Delivery: Throws from the stretch only. Sinks into back leg with leg lift, drops down some and throws from a lower slot. Type of pitcher to move the ball around and miss barrels. Stuff should induce GB/weak contact. With slight velo bumb and development of the SL, could have a good 3 pitch mix to keep hitters off balanced.
FB: 79 mph (2027). FB has some good arm side action (AVG HM 20.9). Lacked command on this day with the FB but misses were down. Stayed majority to the arm side.
SL: 72 mph (2211). Sweeping break. Break of this pitch was slightly inconsistent. Best success would be to start on outer half and finish off the plate.
CH: 72 mph (1972) (17.5 HM). Showed to be his best pitch on this day. Misses were down and effective. Showed some serious horizontal movement.
5-foot-11 185-pounds, stocky frame, well built with above average strength for the age. Two-way player who also plays football. Raw approach at the plate with some extra movement. Starts in wide base, rocking into the back leg early. Uses a toe tap, opening up into heel plant. Hit balls all over the field, looking to hit the ball in the air with strength through his swing. 86mph exit velocity off a tee. Hit some balls into the low 90’s in live BP. Usable hands & feet defensively with ok quickness. Average arm strength at 78mph. Also worked out on the mound, throwing with long OT arm action. Threw a straight FB at 73-76mph, mixing in a SL at 61-63mph with straight side spin.
